Ampthill is a pleasant market town on the Greensand Ridge.
The centre is mostly Georgian, featuring an abundance of antique shops, restaurants, and pubs, and has changed little since this photo was taken in about 1880. The house is just off the right hand edge of the picture, but is part of Farnell's building, which can be seen.
Flitwick mainline station is 2 miles away, providing frequent access to The City of London (35mins), Gatwick and Brighton.
Access to the M1 via junction 12 or 13
Ampthill Park was used as a deer park by Henry VIII. It was landscaped by Capability Brown and provides woodland walks and sports facilities for the town's residents.
